It may be cheaper but you have to risk the packaging will suffer when on the way here.

Matrix 6 your right about taking advantage of the weak dollar, especially when you consider the price of the console your Australia.

You were actually looking for an American console, so you're in luck with this! Although I do agree that it is pretty lame that it still works out cheaper to import an NTSC console than it does buying a native UK machine.

The exchange rate just doesn't work in our favour though, as $450 equates to £276 right now, so where do these retailers get off charging us £350?

Alot of the additional cost is the V.A.T, in the USA cross state delivery is tax free where as it's 20% here.

The Gears console will likely behave like the Halo reach console.

It's likely to sell out initially up to Christmas where prices will explode on eBay, then it will come back into stock to sell off the remainder of stock in Jan and Feb.

Yeah, I'll only pay retail or less for it - not gonna resort to ebay, I managed to get a Halo Reach console quite easily just before Xmas last year at (just) lower than retail so here's hoping I have that luck again xx

Seems to be confirmed for the PAL version in amazon.co.uk:http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005DRB89...7851_as_txt_3/
Looks good though not sure if 349£ is affordable right now for me...
Anyone already pre ordered it???

I've already pre-ordered it from GAME. I do hope the price does come down by a bit, but it's too nice to pass up even if I do end up paying £350 for it.

I'll wait until towards the end of October when I have received a ton of CE's from them, and then maybe re-order it with any GAME points I have accumulated between now and then (Should be close to £50 I reckon!)

Is there any way possible to know the limited quantity available?
I mean if they would come up saying that there is a certain amount of consoles I would definitively order one too.
Any idea???

Erm been wanting to get an Xbox360 and this is good.. just wondering does getting it from the US means I have to worry about the voltage hence requiring a step down transformer? or is it something similar like PS3 where the power unit is universal

EDIT: hmm might have to get local console I suppose due to power issue
