Just so everyone knows. There's is slight differences in the recently released 20th anniversary controller to the the controller that comes with 20th anniversary console. They're near identical BUT the recent released controller's touch pad has the basic tiny dimples like every other controller. The controller that came with the system has tiny triangles, exes, Os, squares and 2s all over. Just letting everyone know

Yeah, it's unfortunate that they did that. Made me have second thoughts about getting one. In the end I didn't bother...

Now man its good they did that. It's gives distinctions of both of them. I picked one up and it was the first thing I noticed. But I like that they did it that way

Yeah, I get what you mean, but they could have made it a more subtle difference, such as putting "2nd Edition" on the rear sticker or something.

Are they a nightmare as I don't want to cancel my pre-order elsewhere and kick myself if this gets cancelled and it's sold out everywhere etc.

Wanted to order 2 so saving £10 is worthwhile.

I wonder how many they're actually going to manufacture for the public.

Are they released globally or just UK?

Pretty sure WW, certainly US - I don't expect these to be ultra rare or anything but I'm fairly sure it'll be a limited run.

I have the console but never used the controller which is why I'm buying one, I don't mind the minor difference...TBH I would have liked Sony to release a 20th anniversary PS4 that was not numbered and maybe lacked the 'premium' finish of the numbered console (things like the paint finish not having the PS symbols 'engraved' like the touchpad difference on this) - still, at least this controller means everyone can get in on the anniversary if they want

Yeah it was the first thing I requested when I was chatting with Hollie B (community manager for PlayStation) as we went for a meal with some friends and she tagged along, and found out that I won a chance to buy the console from GAME that very day so was very excited.

I basically asked if they'll release the controllers as it'll be really special and people will likely want it. I'm glad it has happened, even though it doesn't have the mesh design on it.

I certainly didn't use the controller and will be buying at least 2 of these and will use it.

The PS1 was my all time favourite console so it had to be done.
