i feel your pain Cosmic..i myself have done this many times with Japanese region locked imports paying premiums on them only to have a proper US release of the exact item for even less money. one shining example is the Persona Q 3DS XL console..i ended up importing 2 of those from Japan, region locked costing double of MSRP after shipping, mark ups, and fees, only for Gamestop USA to have it widely available. and at one point having a 25% off sale of those too!..so i know exactly how you feel!

Yeah, it's incredibly annoying to say the least. Thankfully the price difference for importing one and getting a PAL one locally isn't too drastic, so I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. Lol I'm guessing it will be £180 when it releases here. It was just a shade under £200 to import the US after import fees, postage and currency conversion. However it's just if I had known, I obviously would have gone for a PAL version. >.< Ah well it doesn't matter. XD

Also, my apologies if I sound ungrateful. XD I am ofcourse very happy with the one I have and appreciate the trouble you went through to forward it for me.

They're just getting lazy with these now. No charger + no game. They did it already for the Majora's Mask one, but I'm not buying another like that again.

The previous models (particularly the Link Between Worlds 3DS) were amazing. I can't be bothered with this half arsed shit at a premium price.

Oh NO Cosmic! you did'nt come across ungrateful, i agree with your sentiments of "Piss Off Nintendo" lol..because like i said, i bit the bullet on the persona Q editions, only for Nintendo US to release it later down the road, why not just announce it throughout the world all at once?..we were all lead to believe this Hyrule edition XL was a true US Gamestop exclusive..a rarity of sorts..now it's just another mass produced version available in ALL regions..now look at the Pokemon 2DS special editions in the different colors..i really wanted the Japan ones, but most vendors are asking double retail plus shipping..then i thought it was great to hear about the PAL versions..but only 3 of the 4 are coming to Europe..LOL..and green one was my fave one, but now the PAL and JAPAN boxes are completely different design wise..so i can't even mix the 2 as a set, and of course i know that even if i did order PAL or JAPAN versions...only for Nintendo US to announce them..but what if? they don't ever come stateside?..there's always "that if"..those kind of things take the piss out of collecting..it would be a lot easier to accept if Nintendo went region free..let's hope NX is'nt gimped like that from the get go with locks in place.

Yeah, was just talking to someone last night about that. Still have NO clue why Nintendo did that -- the boxes are still pretty much about the same size and the cost of the charger couldn't have been that much more than the marketing costs of having to label everything with 15 red warning labels that a charger is not included, especially when they sell the charger for like ~$10?!

Really baffling that they didn't at least include a digital code or pre-installed game as well. I guess I can understand that only for the fact that people who would purchase that FE 3DSXL probably would also purchase the game separately. And truthfully, I never use the digital codes anyway so no big deal to me, but just seems odd that they wouldn't charge people for it anyway?

I'm just lucky that the first ds/3ds I purchased was the ALBW one which had a charger because the last 2 haven't! God forbid I wanted to play two of them at the same time though? It'd kind of be like getting a new iPhone without a charger - sure most people probably have a charger already, but doesn't mean they don't want another one and also what about all the other people who aren't in the majority?

i'm scared that the NX consoles will also come with NO adapters, and we would be told that to buy Wii U's and use thier charges.

Yeah, not sure about that. Seems unlikely though. Its one thing to do that from a 3DS --> N3DS when everything is nearly exactly the same. But seems very unlikely they'd do it for an entirely "next gen" platform.

Very nervous about the reveal though... so many different "rumors" out there, some good some bad. No matter what, the outrcry will probably be the same as it always is though:

1) 1 group of people who are absolutely in love with it and shocked at how amazing it is (and it'll undoubtedly have some new, if not revolutionary, method of input or output as Nintendo always does).
2) another group who says its already dead on arrival and Nintendo is finished forever
3) those who legitimately critique it for the things it should do and doesnt while also acknowledging the things it might do well
4) those who really don't care and say "Nintend-whaa?"

Some other guarantees:
- it'll have eshop access
- it'll have amiibo access
- it'll almost certainly have a bad or confusing name
- there'll be a gimmicky game at launch

I know this will piss off a lot of our PAL Nintendo collector fans, but Nintendo of America now offers to everyone on their website the so called "European Ambassador edition" 3DS plate covers, the kanji cover, that was exclusive to Europe Nintendo 3DS 1ST edition console, can now be bought for $21 (cover plates only)..but it is EXACT color and design..i know some Europeans paid big bucks aftermarket to get those unique cover plates with the console, when the "new" 3ds launched ...
