Because they cannot use the word Steelbook in the advertisment if it's not genuine Steelbook. The trademark makes litte difference. If it was Futurepak or whatever else they would say "Steelcase, Steel case, Metal case" or smth along those lines.

They say Steelbook on 2K Games homepage and for me, more importantly, they say Steelbook on Amazon sites as well and Amazon is very strict about that. For example Mortal Kombat XI - the edition that comes with "metal case" is advertised to contain Steelcase in Amazon.

Not trying to come out as cocky and not trying to say i know it all or that i know more than you, however...

I do collect steelbooks, i spend hours browsing around, trust me when i tell you that many times Metalpacks/Ironpacks are announced as Steebooks.

There are cases like the ones you point out where they are announced correctly, but in many cases they are not.

It's odd for me because your link was the first time I EVER saw a falsely advertised Steelbook in like, let's say 5 years? I emailed Scanavo, not hoping for a reply, but who knows.

And already established that you know more than me since I hadn't seen this kind of stuff on Amazon before so...

Edit: The WWE one, just wow! Wtf is this?! I'm gonna eat my words. Although I am still confident we will get an actual Steelbook - you bringing an example that involves 2K Sports and considering 2K Games is publishing Borderlands 3 - let's just say...actually let's not say anything.

I would love it if they always did like you mentioned, but unfortunatelly that is not the case
