Default Insuring your collection

Anyone here has their collection insured?Thought about it? Know someone who has?

I assume some of you will have house insurance that covers the house contents, if so, is your collection insured with it?
How did you went about valuation?

I just included it in my homeowner's insurance along with the value of all the other stuff in the house.

And how did you do about the value of your collection?
Price you paid for when buying? Market value?

I think I just made a rough guess as to how much I paid for it all.

For mine, I have all the receipts to show what was paid for, so I at least can recover what I put into it. For the artwork (which is most of my collection) I would take the picture+frame costs and tack on at least 25%.
