Just keep the HMV goodies anyway and tell them it's compensation for the inconvenience or that they were that badly damaged, due to shoddy packaging, and they were no longer saleable and you didn't see the point in sending them back!

This is not good information guys! I'm still waiting to receive my LE copy of Pandora's Tower from HMV which should have been with me on release day (Ie, Friday). After reading what you guys have said regarding the LE being unsealed and the pre-order bonus a flatpacked cardboard cover, I'm getting a little anxious!

Did anyone happen to pre-order this from another retailer, such as Amazon, ShopTo, PLAY, or GAME? Would be interested in knowing whether theirs come sealed or not, or whether HMV have been tampering...


My only guess is that these may have originally had standard copies of the game inside when distributed, and were maybe unsealed to replace with the SteelBook. At the very least, I expect them to be sealed on the outside with clear circular stickers the same as any other similarly sized LE (such as The Last Story, Xenoblade Chronicles, or Skyward Sword etc)

There still is a standard copy inside, the steelbook comes seperate.

As far as I know, all of the copies from UK retailers (unless it's all copies, from everywhere) are unsealed xx


EDIT: Sorry, by seperate I meant that the steelbook is still inside the box, but seperate to the standard copy. It's a standard copy, an empty steelbook, and artbook and a manual, all packaged inside the outer box.

I got one from hmv and one from amazon and neither were sealed.

I think I got a lucky escape again on this one. My amazon copy was in pristine condition. My hmv order had minor damage to one of the corners. Nothing worth crying about.

So let me get this straight. The big box comes unsealed, and has a standard copy of the game inside. The SteelBook doesn't come inside, but comes separate, as does the pre-order bonus from HMV. All of this is packaged poorly inside a grey plastic bin bag, rather than a suitable box. Is that about the gist of it?

There's definitely something fishy going on. I was under the impression that the SteelBook came inside by default. If the actual standard edition of the game isn't sealed either, then they're really taking the piss!

I can understand the outer box being unsealed to swap the standard edition for the SteelBook, but if what you say is accurate and the SteelBook comes separate, then why the need to unseal the box?

The pre order bound from hmv comes sandwiched and flat packed between 2 sheets of card.

The ce and it's contents (game, steelbool, art book & manual) come all in one unsealed box. The steelbook and games are both unsealed.

All sent in a big grey bag.

not much of a choice, if anyone wants the limited bonuses from hmv u gotta buy it from hmv
if it comes out crushed... well u gotta buy another copy from another retailer

To be honest the collectors box is very disappointing. It's just a self assembly piece of card. I was hoping for something more substantial. The art book is a little better but just the same as your average ce art book really.
