A few years ago they didn't charge upfront. I think they did this because credit cards are very rare here in Germany. So they had to offer bank transfer at least which is the most common method to pay here in Germany and it's free. But I think many people placed orders and never payed for them. So they changed it to immediate payment

Cheers, it's really bugging me now - I've tried FireFox, Chrome, the URL, the IP, somebody's laptop and my PS3 browser and none are loading it yet when I use a proxy, loads absolutely fine.

I think I've seen them update late on, normally I've got that the site is down for maintenance often enough.
