So the game itself is just a standard edition copy of the game? Nothing unique about the game itself, like alternate box art, steelbook, Digipak, that sort of thing? Thanks.

Again if i missed that, sorry...i have ordered regardless, looks great and way better than Borderlands Loot Ediiton
When we designed the size of the Tin, I know we included space for the game in a complicated Tetris-like use of its internal space. I was not present when we did the full unboxing of our copy of the edition, but I'm sure there is room for putting a jewel case in there somewhere. I don't know if the specific place we figured out initially is still present because there was a period of time where it looked like we wouldn't be able to sell the game. Regardless, the packing of the contents in the Tin was meant to minimize space and safeguard the goodies for transit, so putting everything back in wasn't really on anyone's mind.... This seems like an obvious oversight now, but the idea was that the stuff was a little more useful than your normal CE includes, so in our heads we imagined you'd actually take the stuff out and have it on your desk/person/shelf/whatever.

I'll see how well I can box our copy back up with a game inside it on Monday and report back.

Ryan, thanx for the detailed post!

Do you have a shipping estimate?

When you say "by ground" in the description, XPO International Parcel is not air mail?

Also, PLEASE, put an additional effort to package the tin the best way possible.

There is absolutely nothing special about our copies of the game. We have access to the standard Origin DLC (as has been noted already), and everything else is identical to what you'd get somewhere else.

From an industry perspective, getting exclusive DLC is a monumentally big ask. The giant retailers can do it on account of their size and numbers, but it's a very expensive thing to develop and work out for the kinds of numbers we would do.... We always ask, but it hasn't ever happened.

We're working on an unannounced store to launch next month(-ish), and apparently we have access for the first time to some DLC that will be only available through us. It is not related to a CE, though, and I know literally nothing else specific about it. (I don't mean to tease, but it's an exciting thing to finally have access to!)

If this Dead Space edition does as well as we hope, we're optimisitic that our next ones will only be bigger and better-supported with more exclusives than just what we produced.

This is something we take seriously, and we've had some talks with other copmanies about what kinds of boundaries we can push with future CEs, so my fingers are crossed that something neat like this can happen eventually.

Fair point. "Ground" in that case just means "not expedited", which really means "not super expensively".

I'm told our warehouse is set to receive the tins on the 21st. They'll have to be checked in, inventoried, inspected, etc, and then boxed up and shipped off to you all. We hedged and said by the 28th, but we're pretty sure it'll be appreciably sooner than that.

When your actual box ships to your actual address, we'll be able to tell you what the estimated delivery date is and whether there is a tracking number (not usually for international, but sometimes we have some extra info if you email customer service). Fair warning: we've been having trouble with a terrible bug where shipping confirmations are not reliably being sent. I built this as a stop-gap while we continue you track that nasty regression down: http://treehousebrandstores.com/wheresmystuff/ (but this will do no one here any good until at least the 22nd or 23rd, so please to be not hammering the form)

I haven't seen how the Tin will be packaged in the box that goes out, but the people that are in charge of that care very much about not wrecking your nice new things, so I'm sure it will be as safe as is practical. I'll see if I can get some more details on how that will look when everyone is back in the office.

Ok, I think that covers it, thank you!

No need to be practical, put additional cardboard boxes, bubblewrap, you name it, everything is good!
