I'm really hoping that they don't do "exclusive/limited" edition versions of these amiibos as that'd be annoying, but if they didn't, they'd be the only ones (which isn't unlike Nintendo).

Also, regarding the complaint about "too many to collect" or "too expensive" -- I think that's going a bit overboard. They're ~$12 each (less w/GCU) and will undoubtedly end up being trade-able at GS and the such and I'm sure you'll be able to purchase them pre-owned and all that like the other figures. There's not going to be any shortage of these. Collecting them doesn't require you to sell everything you've got, even if you only bought 2/month you're only out $25/month. That's not really breaking the bank for any dedicated collector on a budget here... Also, while they DO have quite a few characters (even just in a Smash roster setting), too many too quick will kill the passion for these en masse - it really will. 1/2 the "joy" of collecting those DI or Skylander figures is that the collectors get that brief momentary sense of joy that they've got the whole collection. If they release 50+ of these in the first year they're going to lose a lot of people who will just throw up their hands and say "forget this, I'm out". So hopefully Nintendo will have a staggered release schedule on these things to keep the collectors (and our wallets) happy.
I dout Gs will except these as trade ins that is like the hole reason they refuse to take skylands or disney infinity stuff.
