Default The Reason Fable 2 CE Was Sooooo Bad.

Right,

We all know that with Fable 2 the was supposed to be a mega Collectors Edition, with a figurine, trading cards and many other cool goodies.

I have a friend that works for Lion Head in Surry (England). He's currently working on Fable 3 and has told me as to why Fable 2 failed to deliver what it had promised and had game retailers across Britain, (possibly the world) sending out apologetic emails as to its customers about their beloved Fable 2 Collectors Edition.

Apparently what happened was, at the last stage of packaging someone noticed that the bits inside hadn’t been safety tested, like the sort of thing about small parts and it you eat the figures head you don’t die.

Anyway, the bits were sent off in the confidence that all would be fine, however it turned out that the figure was highly toxic and was unsuitable for sale. The rest was fine, but made sense as to why it couldn’t be included in the pack.

The original pack was designed to hold all, as well as a chunky awkward figure. Problem was once the figure was left out it was kind of overkill and they didn’t fancy releasing all the packaging, but without the figure. So, they went back to a normal case with just a sleeve, a much cheaper option than having to redesign a whole new package for what now was very little.

They left the cards out and bugged out quick to try and keep the release date the same as the game had almost gone gold.

My mate does tell me though that there will be a great Fable 3 Collectors Edition with all sorts of bits and bobs and it safe to eat.

I’ll be getting mine signed by Peter Molyneux too.
