Again we are not sure they intentionally changed it at all (even Customer Service is not sure... so I assume it is a glitch at this point).

But yes what you said is another good reason why I think they did not do this on purpose as they just started the 20% off video games recently to compete with Best Buy so to reverse it a few months later would be weak and silly.
