LRG is selling plates and proofs
I have stumbled upon LRG's ebay store
As you all know, I have been very vocal about LRG in the past. - From their total lack of quality control to sticking absolutely terrible and useless items in their editions with premium prices, - to making expensive editions of pretty every game to ever exist whether their quality would merit one or not, - to what I can only interpret as taking advantage of the steelbook collector community by putting a steelbook in every CE, - to nothing they do being actually limited anymore - to start bundling digital games despite their "forever physical" motto and then lying to people by saying the game was not DRM free, only for it to be released on CD two months later - to releasing unlicensed SEGA games - to their founders having no clue whatsoever on how to run a company. It seems like they have been doing this for a while but I am just noticing that they are selling production used plates and proof on Ebay. I can not begin to describe how dangerous this is. We all know the state of the collector market and how there are more opportunistic people that have nothing to do with collecting, but are only in it to make money. I have no doubt, these will end up in the hands of someone who will eventually reprint items at will. P.S. Yes I know, these plates seldom get destroyed and usually end up in the hands of an employee but I haven't seen that path lead to fakes yet. Being featured in a public auction is an entirely different thing. It seems like LRG just can't have enough money. While I am not going to formally make this proposal yet, I am one step away from suggesting that we remove all LRG products from our lists and databases. This company has gotten out of control in the past year and based on all their actions, I don't know if I can personally consider their items official anymore. |
