I think in zavvi's case:
"been informed" = "i'm guessing"
"I confirm" = "I'll just answer whatever so you'll leave me alone"
It's just like an email they sent to me "I confirm that your refund has been processed and your credit card statement will show it in 3-5 working days" then after 1 month I have not received it and when I check again they reply "I can confirm that this has been refunded on xx/xx/xx" and then when I tell them I paid by paypal etc, they finally refund. That's zavvi, nothing they say is 100%
