Nope real metal. They are pretty heavy and could weigh close or similar to the actual props in the movie. The blades are not sharpened to hurt but you wouldn't want kids playing with these things. I had to pay for a license to own these or it would have been confiscated by customs in Singapore.

Sword of Shamsir

The blade is constructed of stainless steel with a false-edge. It has been distressed with battle-worn nicks to match the filming prop. The highly decorated hilt parts have been precisely cast from antique finished metal, with a hardwood grip, as seen in the film. The cast metal pommel features an intricately detailed pattern identical to the actual filming prop. The replica was created using the finest grade materials and craftsmanship available.

Dagger of Time

The blade is cast from solid metal, adorned with runes and gold colored highlights to match the filming prop. The highly decorated hilt parts have been precisely cast of metal and plated with real 18K antique gold. Highlighting the handle is a translucent quartzlike grip that houses the “time-altering” sand, as seen in the film. The pommel features a ruby accented jewel. This replica was created using the finest grade materials and craftsmanship available.

If I remember correctly, I paid close to USD $225 for both including shipping to Singapore from US. Prices seem to have dropped slightly since then
