Yep... And you are first allowed to buy beer and that when 16, but you can drink it before if you want to :p
And you can also drink on the street, not like in the USA where they can't
My gf parent had some friends over from USA.. And then we where going down to the city at night, and gave them a beer in their hand.. They where just like, we are not going to get arrest or something for drinking this on the street? :p

And when 18 we can buy the booze you want, doesnt matter %.. :p
