I also believe this to be correct. Before release there was lots of rumours and speculation and various promotional pictures found across the internet of several editions. I also seem to remember WB Games stating that these were planned, but they changed their mind at the last minute

So the two SteelBook editions which were initially planned were actually scrapped, and all we got was the crappy Kollector's Edition with the statue & no SteelBook

Quoted for truth!

It is always disheartening to receive a CE which looks nice, but has had very little effort put into it, and like you say, the boxes are often reminiscent of easter egg boxes - Eg, Aliens Vs Predator CE

If they're going to go to the effort of creating a premium edition for collectors, then they could at least present them a little better. Damn, even easter eggs get better treatment!

I thought the European Kollector's Edition had a SteelBook:

Hmm, perhaps the rest of Europe got a SteelBook, but not us in the UK. It almost feels as if the UK Kollector's Edition was a poorly made last minute copy of the Euro release, sans SteelBook. Why they couldn't just release the same edition here with a different logo on the front I do not know!

I wonder why we got shite and the rest of Europe were granted a SteelBook?
