I think it's just for them to make sure your card is good and you have funds available.

If its pending it will stay pending until they decide to take the money or fullfill the order. More often within 7 days of a payment pending the money will be gone from your account.With a payment pending you cant touch that money allocated to payment pending,it stays locked away & untouchable. So the reality is it doesnt matter if you pay by paypal or credit card,the moneys gone
