Publishers who invest money by giving studios a loan for a game to be made. They use data from launch window sales to judge whether the next investment is a good business decision or not. Mostly what i am talking about is whether a certain game gets a sequel or not. But obviously when investing in new IPs the publisher or company investing will look at the studios past history as a whole.

Companies who invest in these games want the game to pay for itself and make the targeted amount of profit within the first month month or two of its release (this is usually where over 2/3 of what the game will ever sell happens... usually more then 2/3, some games have legs though).



Also I want to know where that website gets it's data from...
