Shouldn't we first have a list of what must be in a CE
Sort of a check list And then grade the CE's based on those criteria As otherwise a lot of us will just go for our favourite game or the newest game (cough GTAV) So What makes a good CE?
Iis not what others would consider a good CE As I don't want to see a figure or statue in a CE as they can be sold separately And an art book can be sold separately So my nomination is: dead space 3 dev team edition Because pretty much the entire CE is an in game replace (except for the stupid name plaque) ![]() NiNo Kuni: Wizards Edition Not worth the 100 GBP price tag but I love the artwork of the box and that they give you an in game replica wizards book which is an art book and a wizards game guide, bit for the price tag its not a lot really ![]() But I also like these 2 Total war II: ROME (for the replica trebuchet thing) WATCHDOGS vigilante edition for the hat and the mask / bit so many games have a CE with a piece of clothing so its not really anything special So And really in order to do these sort of thing We should have had a grading criteria Like a check list as mentioned and then grade that against the retail price And it should have been done against every CE that was released as to keep it fair As this feels a bit like Let's just give an award to a 4th quarter / next gen blockbuster (well that's what it feels like to me) But as a value for money bundle of items that ticks every box from the Essential CE list (but I am.biased here) Art book Statue/figure Original soundtrack Steelbook Artwork in the style of the game poster/lithographs/box canvas It even includes an in game.replica of a flag and map ![]()
