It won't be exclusive to Australia, I highly doubt that. But it probably will be very limited like Crysis 2 Nano Edition.

Because I 'collect'. That's why I'm here on this site to find very limited/exclusives and most impressive CE that exist.

Plus;

Alduin Statue - Created in conjunction with the IP Factory, this collector’s only statue stands 30.5cm tall and is made of high quality PVC. Modelled from actual in-game 3D digital files, it showcases Alduin, the World Eater. He stands perched atop one the game’s many dragon walls that teach the player the lethal language of dragons.
Now that sounds pretty hot!!
If truly limited, then this will be over-valued and highly sought after when and after release!

@Matrix6, from what I've seen over the web, people are in outrage over the price of this CE considering that The Witcher 2 and Arkham City, for example, feature better content at a far lower price and I tend to agree.

I get that you are a collector (and obviously in no worry for money), but if you think that this price is justified, I'm sorry to say, but in my opinion, you're not thinking straight.
I'm not the one to tell you what will you do with your money, BUT, you (and people like you) only encourage these greedy publishers to fish the money out of you and continue to produce these overpriced CE/LEs.
And this is the second "silly" CE this year next to The Old Republic and it's 130GBP price tag.

I have the same point of view in collecting. See, I don't buy CEs for monetary value. I don't care if the CEs I buy are overproduced or extremely limited. I do it for the sentimentality. I buy collector's editions because I wanna express that I am a fan of the developer and that I support their work (you can add the elitist privileges if you want to ), but not to the extent that I'll buy what they want me to buy even if I don't want it. In this case, I've always been fascinated by dragons and they're my second love after cars so I'll be getting this. The fact that I love "real" artbooks only sweetens the deal and helps me condone the lack of the inclusion of the soundtrack.

Not taking anything from Matrix6 by the way. To each his own, I guess.

I've a feeling that the price may drop, as Bethesda was recently quoted saying "games are too expensive nowadays" and now they do this... So either, they will reveal extra contents, or a huge price drop xx

Bethesda have gone down so much in my opinion, no UK steam pre-order for Skyrim probaly due to some agreement with GAME, so the rumours go, then braindead price for a £5 plastic model, art book and dvd and then all then all this stuff about sueing mojang for using the word "Scrolls". I suppose i should be more angry at zenimax beacuse i guess there pulling the strings but still.....

@john385 Oh I respect your opinion and respect you for who you are as a gamer or 'collector'. But I can assure you that I find the current asking price for this well over-priced not just for the lack of contents but perhaps also for the quality of the statue. None of us really know of whether the quality of it will be of the highest possible quality ever made, and to only include a 'making of' dvd (not even bluray for PS3) shows that they're not putting in enough effort into making this seem worth the price they want!

It's funny how The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim director Todd Howard was interview in the latest issue of PSM3 stating that the current price point of games is too expensive! And then they bring this out with an outrageous asking price!! So it contradicts in what they (Bethesda) believe in (market pricing of games), and doesn't show any leadership in trying to bring the price down. They also just recently released Oblivion 5th Anniversary....how releases has that game alone had in all regions and formats?? So I guess this is nothing new in terms of Bethesda milking and taking every penny possible in any way!

By the way, I don't just get any CE released out there, I especially don't touch them if they're of really crap quality and if I'm not interested in the game whatsoever. Over the years I've been caught out and regret buying some CE's on release day only to find out how bad a quality they really are. One of the most memorable one is the Batman Arkham Asylum and it's cheap plastic Batarang that was glued onto a silly little stand. And just like the Batman AA CE, Batman AC CE looks really pretty on the promo pictures but we've yet to see the real thing in normal lighting condition or even informed of what material the statue will be made of. SFIV CE was also disappointing for the price it ask for when they didn't provide a BD/DVD case for the included animate movie (PAL version).

I've never played an Elder Scrolls game before, but I do know of its reputation and high quality the game presents. So I'm trying to be optimistic in hope I don't get disappointed and that I'll get almost what I paid for. You must admit though, we rarely ever see full size art books included in CE these days and if they do produce one it'd be a separate thing to buy without the game. The statue better not be made with the same material as the Crysis 2 Nano Edition as the little foot stub broke during (?) transit!

Did they also forget to mention that the cloth map will/should be included with this CE??
We're supposed to be getting one when we pre-order...I expect my EB to give me one upon release!

Not sure of the history of The Old Republic CE, it appears to be well over-priced in Europe (especially for a PC format)...but do you think it also have a licensing fee for whoever is actually molding the Sith statue?

If you want truly overpriced and crap quality CE's then turn your head towards ALL CoD Prestige Editions. They're all basically the Hardened Edition with a very cheap looking/feeling plastic toy made in open space somewhere in Asia where the "factory" is just a very large table with plastic parts being put together by hand.
Pics of making of MW2 NV Goggles:

http://cdn.themis-media.com/media/gl...y/59/59731.jpg

It's not a disgusting sight, but it goes to show how much we pay for cheap stuff that doesn't really "work". I'd rather a statue than a cheap toy such as goggles/mask/RC cars/etc.

@vhal_x I hope you're right about a price drop, it's not impossible...it's happened before.

@Solemn_In_Berlin Like I've iterated above, I don't buy just because....I buy because I actually want it (most of the time). If it supports the developer as well then that great. But I don't believe that it's really the developers wanting to release these absurdly price CE, it's more likely the Publishers themselves who wants to get greedy and make more profits out of us "fans" as the added cost of producing a CE is recoverable from releasing one. Though not all of them succeed.

I won't even be getting the Resistance 3 Survival Edition let alone the game. I have R2 and didn't enjoy it so I have no reason to buy R3 game or CE.

At least developers/publishers have a set price on these CE's, if you want to know who really wants to rip you off....just open a page on eBay! There you'll be tempted and ripped of your hard earned cash for if you don't purchase a CE at the stores then you'll surely pay much more on eBay! And for what some get for free (Press Kits), they'll have no issue in making huge profits with on eBay....and I'm a victim of that by choice

/wall of text.

Actually I heard the quote was more along the lines of "games should be priced for content" which to Bethesda, I am sure they think their games are worth full retail price.

...and that was also said a few days before the CE was announced.

I'm going to be giving this game a miss, glad too because this CE is very expensive for what you get.

Being a Bethesda game, I can imagine bugs galore after the atrocity that was New Vegas but that's another story and I hope I'm proven wrong.

I'll be playing Dark Souls instead.

Haha this exactly! Go Dark souls, and fallout new vegas was awful. I totally agree.

But, when or if it becomes available in NA, I might as well just give it a pre-order just to see if they sell out quickly? Then if it does I can flip it for profit, and if it doesn't I can cancel? Is this smart? I've never done it before lol.
