They have since recanted on the start button and the auto-defaulting into metro on desktops. It was silly to compromise the usability of one platform just to make it closer to a tablet solution. Metro is awkward and clunky on a desktop. It makes sense for tablets and they'll never get it adopted by latop and desktop users in any important way.
