The thing is the companies ship things all the same. As in they do not recognize collectables. With most items they can just send you another if there is an issue but with something that is rare and possibly sold out this is not an option and should be treated differently... they just do not.

It would be nice if they had a category for limited edition things, where it may cost a few more dollars to ship it but the category makes then warehouse take special precautions when packaging. Of coarse this will never happen with the big retailers like Amazon... they just sell way too much stuff and too many different kinds of stuff.

I would think that Amazon above all other retailers could make that work. They've got algorithms for every item they sell and organize them all based on size (not category). If they flagged an item as requiring some additional packaging they could build that into their algorithms for packaging and it'd be no big deal. (Saw a detailed inside look report at the way they do things the other day, so that's why I say that)

I'm just sad as this is the first "semi-rare" collectible I've purchased from them and it is hands down the WORST packaging I've ever seen from them - the packaging consisted ONLY of one piece of rolled up paper (not even 2 to keep the item from the corners). The funny thing is I got an email yesterday from them about "rate our packaging"... Oh you better believe ill be rating it haha

From my experience, Amazon UK shipping overseas is really a hit or miss.

I have received a few items perfectly packaged and not damaged (like te LOZ Guide Box/Chest) and then some items got banged up on the trip (Defiance CE)

I'm sure they will sort you out, they have always come through for me!

So I guess I contact amazon.it right? Or would it just be amazon.com? Might have to brush up on my Italian...

D'oh, ordered it from UK, not IT

Just got off the chat with them, they're sending me a replacement free of charge and I'll keep this beat up one. Way to Amazon! Love their customer service, but I hope the next one comes mint!

Yep, that's exactly how they take care of half of the international stuff they mess up. It costs them too much to send a return label and send you a replacement

Hey, since you got an extra, wanna sell it to me? (the damaged one)

Im still having trouble with something I bought in December and they then ship wrong item..
