Okay so then that doesn't explain why this is still available. Although them only producing 2000 for the PAL regions leads me to believe they are in fact sticking to 5000 for the USA.

I mean, why up the production run of the US version and then only create 2000 for the PAL territories right?

If it was about monies then why only create 2000 UK versions. That doesn't make sense.

If they are selling more than 5000 copies in the US wouldn't that be false advertising? Isn't that illegal? not that i think people will actually care or maybe SE will just put a random number on each copy to hide that fact.

They can always say something like. Due to massive demand we have increased the production to XXXX! and it will be totally legal.

It's a business and marketing strategy.

Supply and demand is what most companies usually do, although at times in order to get more spotlight, they limit the supply and attract more potential buyers that way.
Sometimes people just want what they can't get.

Also, it works as a safe move in case the game does not sell well (since it is not a COD game) and they do not get stuck with leftover copies that will have to be clearance sooner or later.
