Hi all,

I have something important to discuss. As there are a lot of people on this forum, I suspect there are quite a lot people here who also played Dark Souls I and Demon’s Souls. As the Souls-series never had a lot of merchandising item compared to other games, we can say that after all Dark Souls I and especially Dark Souls II had a lot more merchandising items than Demon’s Souls, like the metal cards, posters, t-shirt, comic book, guides, etc…
Demon’s Souls was a revolutionairy game with a beautiful design, but as far as I know, only the EU Black armour and the US Deluxe edition exist. There is only 1 poster from Demon’s Souls to collect, but that’s it. No statues, no shirt, no nothing. About Demon’s Souls there is also very few items made by people. Peter Nordstrom has made some statues, but most of them are out of sale.
Now there is a friend of mine who lives in US who has made some extremely nice 3D constructions. One of them is shown as a picture in this thread. For me personally it’s the most beautiful design of any Demon’s Souls related item I have ever seen. Now, we were planning on getting sculpted in a limited edition. But before we do this, we want to know if there is a market for this. Personally I’m convinced that there is a market, but I need to be sure before I make this investment.
The idea that I had is the following: the statue would have the size of 15x15x15cm. We would like to get it hand-painted by a real craftsman. If this was the case, how much money would you give for it? And would you like to see it painted or not? If not, how much money would you give for an unpainted one (please note that painting by a craftsman is not cheap!). If this would be a success, I had in mind to put the statue on a small dark-wooden pedestal to give it more class. How much money would you give for the pedestal? Also, because the statues are limited, each pedestal would have a small metal plate in gold colour on it with the name of the figure and the game where it’s from. For example it would say: ‘Dragon God’ and then on the line beneath it ‘Demon’s Souls’ and the number would be engraved in the name plate or in the wood. This is what we have in mind;
I would like to ask that only the people who are interested in buy this item reply to this thread. Also reply to the questions posed is this thread and try to summarize everything in 1 thread, so I can get an idea about how large the quantity would be. Thanks a lot and I hope that my friend and I can get this project running because of you guys If this would be succesfull, we could make other ones, and you could suggest a boss/npc for the next statue!

And there could be legal problems doing this.

Thanks for your reply Ingmar, but I know there will be legal problems. My goal of this thread is therefor not to sell these statues allready, just to know if there is interest of people. If there is enough interest, then i will do the effort to get permission etc... So would be stupid to put all the effort in it if nobody wants a statue.

About the non-official thing you say, that's true. But to be honest, i would like an unofficial statue which is crafted very nicely a lot more than some ugle official cheap statue. You wouldn't? So i think the 'unofficial' factor is not that important.

Yeah, would be really cool to have a statue of the dragon god!

I bought one of these mini bust of Garl Vinland a year ago. I've paid about 150 dollar for it and it is handmade and handpainted.

Yes indeed, i know the statue that you mean. Would you give thesame amount for the dragon god statue?

I'd definately be interested, depending on price. Probably $150 would be my limit for something that size.

A bonus would be if you made them limited, like only 500 or less.

There will be lots of interest in this. As you said, there is not a lot of merchandise for the souls games, so anything like this the fans would jump on.
