fishy dark souls promotional items
I just bought a sif statue that was done by link dead studios from an ebayer. I was very happy even though i spent so much on it because (from my knowledge) its really rare (same as the looking glass knight statue). To my surprise (and lack of enough background checks), the same seller sold around 2 or 3 sif statues before, and so many more looking glass knights too.
The seller describes them as promotional items and he says ' You're unable to get one of these unless you have a business deal or contract with the studio!' I really dont like that sentence. does that mean: a) theyre not purely promotional items b) the company itself is selling them unethically. sadly i already spent so much on it and everything else clicked afterwards >_< wouldnt have bought it after all this 'self analyses' so its all my fault anyways, but still how does this guy keep having all those 'promotional' items? |

Re: fishy dark souls promotional items
Unfortunately it is not that rare as both are available every other week from a certain sleazy seller. Now I don't trust that they are really that limited anymore. I would like to have the statues on my collection but it seems this seller is the only one providing them as it appears he landed himself on some kind of contract with LDS.

Re: fishy dark souls promotional items
I have personally contacted LDS, and the artist herself mentioned that they are a limited run.
Now there was no indication that it would only be 1 run (or limited to 1 run) but at the time (about 2 months ago) she mentioned that they usually do an average of 100 or so for each limited run and they are done for promotional purposes/etc. the items are legit (at least the Mirror Knight) for sure. How they are getting so many, I'm not sure. |

Re: fishy dark souls promotional items
last email from the seller:
"" Hi Ebay listed it as a forwarding address due to the Global Shipping Program (which is mostly our fault for forgetting to switch that off) instead of a direct shipment to your location. So the address they gave us was: 1850 AIRPORT EXCHANGE BLVD STE 200 which was located in the USA When, in reality you were located overseas. So it's partially our fault for listing it incorrectly but we needed to rectify the situation to make sure all bases were covered. In the future we will be more careful to make sure that switch is ticked. Didn't ya give me your sisters address the last time we talked in PA or somewhere? That would have been perfect! Good luck on your search! We had a few previously due to a contract deal with them but this was the last one we had. Cheers and have a great day!" ----------------- hes alright i guess, their policies are not very friendly but through emails and such theyre very understanding |
