Saw a couple unboxing videos. The box does seems like it is cardboard paper. Heard the opening and dropping of the top cover on the table and sounds cardboard as well.

Probably getting mine on monday since it was shipped last thursday.

i suppose its either cardboard, styrofoam, or flimsy plastic frame.... pick yer poison...

personally i dont like styrofoam cus it is prone to indentation, and can be a bit of a mess if it gets old and starts flaking

Yeah I hear ya'..Once I saw the CE I was thinking it was like the same kind of case and material that like jewelery rings are displayed/presented in..
Now that would have been acceptable IMO...
Oh well, fingers crossed I guess...
