No, around 12:30pm on Sunday they started letting in groups of about 25-30 people at a time and then about every 15-20 minutes another group would go in. People started arriving around 1pm on Sunday afternoon (a full 23 hours before it stared). They hadn't even announced wristbands actually, fans started posting about them on Bungie.net actually. They had two giveaways on Sunday (2pm and 9:30pm), I missed out on both, I live fairly close so i went down there anyways around 10:30pm to check out the line. There were about 20 people there, but they had already given out 75 wristbands by then. Most people either went home or went to their hotel as people did fly in from out of state for it.
The next wristband giveaway was 6am, I got down there at 4:30am and there was a significant amount of people lined up, apparently someone had told the previous wristband holders to be back in line at 5am. Why, no one knew, some people were upset about that since the event didn't start until noon. Myself and a friend got a wristband, by 6am there were probably a few hundred people there. I heard that they still had wristbands up until around 8:30am.
By 12pm there were probably about 800-1000 people there in line, because Bungie had said the first 300 would get a tour but the first 1000 would not leave home empty handed. A plane kept flying by low, but nothing happened, everyone though swag would be tossed from it, logistically not sure how that would happen, with people all around and it takes one person to say "Ouch that hurt" to cause a lawsuit. I later found out that it was a Red Bull promotion and they were to have six professional sky divers jump from the plane with Destiny/Bungie flags but due to low clouds, it was cancelled.
Bungie staff were walking the line handing out buttons, stickers, and shirts. I recall three different styles of shirts being handed out but not every one got one, Id probably say they handed out maybe 50 of each style. Also overnight to the fans waiting a few Bungie staff came out and gave out about a dozen really nice Bungie hoodies in various sizes but they only gave those out once and that was around 11pm the night before. They also bought a bunch of Taco Bell for those waiting overnight in line too.
At 12:30pm they started letting everyone in line (it was all roped off so it was rather smooth sailing while in line and everyone was quite cool about it, no pushing or shoving, etc). I think I ended up getting in around 1:30pm and was in there for about 20 minutes or so, maybe a bit longer.
The studio is actually a lot smaller than you may think, its in a building called the Bellevue Galleria if you want to Google it. There are other businesses in the same complex, I cant imagine there being a real bungee in there, I think the highest inside to the next floor is maybe 15 feet. The former offices for Bungie is where 343 Industries is located about 10 minutes north.
