That rumour was squashed by the CE folks here when they contacted the company doing the figures and found out that there were a lot more than previously thought, and was also sold on some Spanish site.

It was still not very easy to find so prices stayed around the 150-300 euros range. Until.... someone or some people made a Crouching Altair sell for $5k on eBay. Prices been crazy ever since..

This is just my impression of the whole Crouching Altair saga and what I remember of it. This happened 2 years ago I believe..
