It's not that it devalues the poster (if done properly...some shitty poster frames will definitely damage them) it's just that does not really add value (framing can be expensive and people have different tastes in frames & matting). If you try and sell the print framed later on chances are you're not going to get back the cost of framing versus just selling the print by itself. If you like the poster frame it and just make sure every thing is reversible and if you're ever wanting to sell it down the road you'll most likely be better off selling it by itself and reusing the frame later for something else.

+ postage cost for framed poster are much expensive and high risk for damage.
