You make some valid points there, but it is VERY unlikely that these will still be available anytime after Christmas. Also, even if they are, there is almost NO chance that they will ever decrease in retail value - Nintendo (primarily "first party") games almost are never on sale and even then are only a small percentage off. The MSRP typically does not decrease until the end of the platform's life or the beginning of the next.

I only paid around $60 for mine (the boxed bundle) which I felt was a fantastic price for a launch-day title of this caliber, and why I gladly ponied up the cash (or store credit @ BB).

But regarding the contents, yes - there is nothing special about the $100 bundle except for the box and that it's basically $10 off MSRP for all the items separately.

They have not advertised it as "limited" or "collectors" at all, so Nintendo could surprise us all and re-release the box set, but I believe that would be an absolute first (IIRC) for any bundle ever released by the company (though I'm willing to admit that they MAY have done it once or twice before, just can't recall it in my ~18yrs of being a fan).

You mean as I claimed? Or is that the word around the net too?
Spoiler!

TL;DR: For my store at least I can guarantee this was the case, so if you see corroborating comments around the net, I would be inclined to believe them. You just have good karma Knight.

Welcome. It does suck paying scalpers, especially when you do so knowing that their profit margin will be a lot higher than Nintendo's for example. No worries about being able to affordably obtain this particular Bundle's contents though, so that's a positive.

Still trying to figure this one out. Should I chalk that up to good karma as well?

No previous bundles for the Smash franchise and of course my only other main expertise is Zelda. The Four Swords Adventures bundle (came with a GBA-GCN cable) might not have been a single-production-run release? 2004 was a little before I really started collecting Zelda though, I picked that one up later on.

If NoA does indeed decide to produce more SSB Bundles it would be the first intelligent marketing/distribution move I'll have seen them make in a while.
