Yes that is true for US. I believe they charge immediately in the EU. Frankly, I am not sure which one is worse. I don't see this being released before late 2022 - early 2023, so you might forget about it and all of a sudden see the 4K charge

Anyway, if you go back to the facebook post for the deluxe edition and scroll down a little bit, P1 addressed the situation and said that the statue will be available through multiple retailers around the world, just not P1 webstore, which is interesting...

I sure hope this lands on Sideshow, between the payment plan and the reward codes I have, I might be able to make it less brutal for my wallet

The Arthas Commemorative statue, that was previously available in China only as part of the Limited Edition of Warcraft 3: Reforged is now availabe for €150.00 from the Blizzard EU Store.

EU is only charging on shipping or close by it.
They have charged my order of Nier CE that included other already available products, but the other order i have with Nier CE only.

But I imagine it will sell despite the price tag. And FF7, if and when it comes will be similar if not higher...

NieR statue up for preorder on Square Enix Store. Unfortunately they are charging at the time of the order and it not cancellable. So if you are going to order to make sure you think it through. Deluxe edition comes to 3509$ with shipping and tax. Which sucks because as of now, the estimated delivery is February 2022, which I am willing to bet money will eventually be delayed

I have spoken to Sideshow and unfortunately it looks like they won't be getting it unless a miracle happens.

Charging upfront, we all know 2022 will not be ready... this is beyond a joke
