Update: Did some reading around.
This is a limited "physical" edition release being handled by NIS. The standard edition of the game is being handled by Tecmo Koei, and will will only be offerred through PSN as a digital release!

This is getting pretty crazy, Ar nosurge Plus will make for the third Vita game this year to have a limited physical edition release. The other two released already being:

• htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary
• Retro City Rampage DX

We are very happy to announce that Ar nosurge Plus: Ode to an Unborn Star is now available exclusively at our Online Store for pre-order! There will be no standard edition available for this game and the only way to get a physical copy is through the limited edition!

The limited edition sold out on pre-order January 31st. The standard edition sold out on pre-order February 2nd. Both editions were technically limited editions as they were each limited physical releases sold exclusively through the NIS Online Store. The game didn't release/ship until February 24th, so as the old saying goes, proof is in the pudding that NIS really can sell out a game before it ever launches. Granted, htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary was incredibly unusual i nthat it was being sold for incredibly cheap. The "limited edition" was just $29.99 and the standard edition was only $19.99.

Ar nosurge Plus has the distinctions of being relatively inexpensive at only $54.99 and having no standard physical edition. You either pre-order this game's physical L.E. or face having to purchase it through PSN as a DLC title or track down the original PS3 version. And in this instance, the PS3 version has less content than the new Vita version which will include all of the PS3 original's optional DLC already added.
