Interesting.

Gary, who makes the decisions of focusing on Uncharted statues to coincide with the Nathan Drake collection as opposed to Uncharted 4 statue?

I would love to work with whatever team thinks up what promotional items to make and use. Sony with things like press kits is unmatched and gets it right a lot of the time (though they miss sometimes too like with the inFAMOUS Second Son press kit which was pretty uninspired).

Look forward to seeing the final version!

Hi Flatout,

The Press kits I assume are developed by our PR Dept with input from Marketing. Collectors editions are usually a joint project between the game studio, the internal producing team, and Marketing. As far as the Collectibles on the gear store, I make the proposals and develop the products. The Producing team and Naughty Dog have to sign off. For this project, I was originally doing busts for UC4 but when that got pushed, ND decided they wanted a cool collectible to represent the new collection, and I moved on to developing a UC4 statue. As far as you working with these teams, they don't really work with outside collectors. I decided to reach out because I wanted all your feedback.

Gary

Thanks for the info Gary! Cool to know generally how it gets done.

No I was just saying it would be cool to work on a team like that, not that I wanted to try and get a job there

Ahh, gotcha. Sorry I misunderstood. However, in a sense, you guys are part of my "team". I am a one man dept at SCEA, which is why getting feedback from you a is very important to me. As I've said before, Collectibles are very subjective so it's nice to have a group of passionate people that I can bounce ideas off of...and share workbench teasers with, like this one:

Yup! I'm making Collectibles for a few of the more popular classics!
