So, now to find what's the best way of removing an extremely sticky label and its disgusting residue from a steelbook...

Some bloody idiot(s) at Amazon have stuck one straight onto the steelbook and even through being as delicate as possible it immediately rips and there's no way to cleanly get it off.

Goo Gone works excellent. Though you are going to want to peel as much paper off as you can, but it will take care of the residue with only slight scrubbing.

Thanks very much, I remember hearing that brand was good but I don't think I've seen it over here so I'll keep my eyes peeled since the Amazon steelbook is nicer than the CE one in my opinion.

Just opened mine though and there's a few bits I'm disappointed with though.

1 & 2 being the bigger thing for me of the themes. They suck, they're the standard lazy "dynamic" themes where it's a different static picture on each UI level with some music. I love good themes and so was excited to see what they could do with such a beautiful game as Horizon but it's just so boring, I like it when it does something. (eg Firewatch or the Abzu one that released just yesterday.)

3 is a small irritation though where the CE didn't get a slipcase like the LE. Perfect, cheers designer, now I have a steelbook and a loose small artbook.

Still, little things in the grand scheme, I suppose.

Please tell me that those scratches are part of the design (they are not).

I wish Sony would start shrink wrapping the boxes, it would prevent some of the damage here.

There is also another fuck up on the Limited Edition, but that's the fault of Sony alone and only affects the german release -> https://twitter.com/SonyCat86/status/836922818134687744 And I thought we were punished enough with the USK rating.

Again, they could prevent that if they would use a sticker for logos like this.

Make a complaint to Amazon & demand a partial refund. They should honour it. They've done it for me in the past when things have arrived in less than stellar condition, but not as bad as your box. I don't know what's with Amazon, every package always has the box facing down on the front, which is the worst. If the back was scratched up, it's wouldn't be as bad. How hard is it to spin it around???

On a similar note, I settled with the LE and there's also an extremely sticky clear label on it. Getting that crap off drove me nuts. I used the same sticker to pull off the residue, wasn't game using a 'goo remover' in case it took the print off with it. Anyway I managed to get it all off but you can still see where it was as it's left a slightly raised indentation on the box, if that makes sense.

I remember The Uncharted Collection LE & Uncharted 4 LE also had these shitty labels, there is just no need for it.

Finally inboxed everything. Extremely happy with the quality of the CE. The statue looks amazing!

The Thunderjaw is meh. Not bad, not amazing. I would've been unhappy if I had to pay the full $200 for it.
