Anticipated Metro Exodus - Spartan Collector’s Edition

Not related to the Spartan CE, but the Aurora edition: The PC version will now ship with a key for the Epic Game Store, instead of Steam.

Asked them since there has been diverging information and just got an answer. Cancelling mine as a result.

Well, I guess I will pick up the heavy discounted version on steam in 2020 then. I really don't want another of these storefront launchers.

No way in hell that's worth $300. Not saying it doesn't look neat, but it's more like a ~$150 CE.

I don't understand the negativity of no steam no buy. Publishers are moving away from steam because steam take 20-25% of the profit while epic store only take 12%.

This gives more funds to the studio to develop their next game. I would do the same and sell on epic store if I am a game developer.

Because as I said I don't want another of these launchers just for one game I might be interested in? I allready have steam, GOG, Origin, Battle.net and Uplay. Besides, they advertised and sold the game via steam for months and now, a few days before the release they are pulling out this one-year exclusivity shit out of the hat.

I have enough other games to play in the meantime. I can wait.

Fair enough if you think another launcher is big enough of a reason to stop you from playing a game. I have the same amount of launcher as you along with others like ESO and FF14.

Existing digital preorders on Steam were not harmed though. Just physical and future digital order.

They are charging me the same amount of money (85 Euro) while I now get fewer features (no achievements, no cloud saves, no forums where I can seek help if I run into technical issues etc.) than I did before. Why would I support that?

Especially since Deep Silver did not even sent out a notification that you now get an Epic Games Store key instead of one for Steam (in fact, it still shows the Steam logo on the page...) and I had to spam their social media until I got definitive confirmation.
