But only the original 4000 and xbox copies have been dispatched. All the other PS3 copies no one has received yet. I think it makes sense that only 4000 are actual steel books since most people receiving them say they seem to have been stored for a while now because they're dusty. If that's true and not even Australia get the steel books this is gonna be a rare collectors item

Zavvi shipping is still shite, to be quite frank. Slight issues with my copies though admittedly, not the worst condition they could have arrived in. Again, I get stuff from HK and Japan packed better for cheaper. Zavvi better sort this crap out because it's pretty embarrassing for them and all round annoying as a customer.
Edit: Pics. Excuse the camera and lighting. My phone needs strict lighting and settings to have amazing pics (really!) but I'm just lazy and non-pro for it. Desire HD, if you're wondering. ![]() Crappy packaging. MGS4 I took out but basically that's how it was packed. ![]() ![]() Mostly flat so barely ANY protection. Amazing stuff Zavvi, truly... The damage... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Game was out of place and inner card was also damaged. I only opened this copy because of it feeling lumpy....now I know why! The moment of truth, even though it's teased above... ![]() No inner art ![]() And that's that. Awful packaging by Zavvi. Konami could've done a better job of the over all packaging of the product e.g. A sturdier box ala Square Enix's Dissidia/Crisis Core boxes. Hell, even like MGS Premium (never seen but it looks miles better) would've been better. A slightly smaller box would've been possible but I guess they wanted the extra space to highlight the products, except when the quality of the packaging isn't very high this falls a little flat. It's not awful but not as good as Konami have done previously and in other regions and far from what competitors are doing. Personally for me Square Enix and Pentavision lead so far. This still begs the question, are all PS3 steelbooks or not? That mystery is still unsolved. Last edited by Ryu Kazama; 01-31-2012 at 06:57 PM. |

I have received mine and am just as furious with Zavvi as i am with Konami. What awful flimsy outer cardboard packaging, just picking it up makes me feel like im going to crease it somehow.
And, top that of with Zavvis substandard packaging, its highly unlikely many will receive truly MINT copies, i feel especially sorry for thos abroad - i fear the worst for your copies |

There's nothing that stand out to me on the box so the only way to know is to buy one and open it at the moment. |

Well, although we know more now than we did, I'm still a bit confused. Firstly I think i understand why my original order was never updated - probably to more easily identify the original 4k pre-orderers.
We're assuming that the original 4k are getting the PS3 STEELbook that was probably already produced before the goalposts were moved. But that doesn't explain the dusty copies because there was no t-shirt or artbook in the original LE . . .unless, of course, they pre-packaged the original steelies and stored them but then had to wait for the PS3 stickerbooks for the late-comers to be produced. Make any sense . . . ![]() Were you one of the original 4000 who got a steelbook mate. If you were I'd wait before sending it back. You might end up with a stickerbook.
