Must admit I'm not sure what to make of this edition. The centrepiece, the chest, looks a bit cheap and plasticky up close but looks really cool from a distance. The artbook is of acceptable quality and the bobblehead is nice.

Cloth map is nice too and i was quite suprised by the quality of the journal.

All the other stuff is bog-standard filler and i was a bit disappointed with the large steelbook (hate those bloody things).

I suppose the question is . . .worth a hundred quid?? Well . . .direct comparisons would be the God of War Ultimate Edn and the Uncharted 3 Chest but i have neither of those so i can't compare directly but, from the unboxings i've seen, this holds up fairly well in the content department.

Also the Sonic Generations CE was the same price for a lot less . . .so . . .looking at stuff like the Risen 2 CE and the Prototype 2 Blackwatch at £70 for a LOT LOT less - this seems like a decent buy to me.

And the game ??. . .haven't a fuckin' clue

The journal was a bit pants IMO - looks like an old journal from the pics but it's nowt more than a glossy mini-book.

WRT Uncharted (US CE or UK EE?) I'd say:

U3 EE> U3 CE> Borderlands 2

Borderlands 'cloth' map is more like a fuzzy felt thing, much prefer the map with the Zelda CE Guide.

The Bobblehead seems good quality - better than the U3 statue for sure.

But then we have:

U3 EE chest vs Borderlands chest - knockout in the first round to U3
U3 Journal case vs Borderlands steelbook - easy win for U3
U3 Ring v Borderlands art book - easy win for U3

If it were U3 CE (US version) it'd be closer, but man dat ring & steelbook seal the deal for me.

i think this will be a hot christmas item,..so they will keep churning them out as long as retailers state there's stong demand for them...especially after the game got very very good reviews across the board..this loot edition will get milked for all it's worth..there will be a 3rd wave release,..i think in the near future to fulfill demand.
