I'm not innocent either and I think many of us here are not. But I admit that no matter what excuses we have to resell, that will always be a selfish attitude. If there are 1000 units of the same edition and each person buys at least two, that means 500 people get it. Now consider some of us here order more than two and resellers/scalpers buy a lot more than that. In the end, less than 500 people get the edition, and a certain number out of those 500 will have to pay much more to get it. Of course this is just a quick theory with many flaws, but I think you can see my point. I'm not accusing anyone, I've done this myself a couple of times in the past as well. In fact, sometimes I get doubles of older rare games from local stores just to make sure they won't end up in the hands of resellers like it happens about 50% of the times. And sometimes I just do that to give/trade/sell at cost to other fellow collectors or simply keep a second copy for myself.
I've bought a couple of items in the past for resale as well in order to get some extra money, but that only happened a couple of times. However if a member here or some other collector I know from my country was looking for something that was sold out and I had an extra copy for resale, I'd sell it for the same price I paid at no extra cost.
