Yeah, the high price can be off-putting.

Also, we know that over time the hardware itself becomes more refined and produced more cheaply, so it definitely pays to wait. Adopting any new system early has very little benefit, unless you take serious pride in owning the latest technology.

And as you mentioned, there is a certain time-frame to make money through auction sites if the initial supply of the 3DS is indeed low. In this regard, buying a 3DS early can be viewed as nice investment that pays off rather quickly.

250 is to much for me, bought last year the Dsi which is wtill working perfectly.
Local stores have a new offer, trade in a Dsi and pay 150 for the new 3DS.
