Lol not about being stupid at all. Its all about if you got the money and are willing to pay for and want it badly enough or are you patiant enough to wait to get it cheaper much cheaper. That is like calling people going after full nes collections stupid. Just because someone is willing to buy such an expensive item does not make them stupid it ether means they just have crap ton of money or they saved like hell to buy this one thing.

I'm talking more... in general about the "have it all" mentality. Like buying a toothbrush, condoms, etc etc etc, because there's a "Mario face" in there and you are a hardcore/stupid completionist.

Well gladly I can say I'm not that severe, I do like collecting items within a series like Resi, Final Fantasy & Metal Gear but going to the extreme and trying to collect everything... nah maybe all the games but not all the extra crap.

I try to collect CE's because I enjoy doing it, to myself the have it all mentality would do more harm than good.

Not that there is anything wrong with it I have seen some awesome collections out there but they do pretty much take up all your time if you need to track down that 1 obscure item.
