I didn't know about this Xbox 360 console?!? I just did a searchlight on google through the first 6 pages of results and found nothing. Please, can anyone shed any light on where this is being offered/how I can get my hands on it/any details at all? THANKS in advance.

Yeah, it's really easy to miss information. It is revealed as you are reliving memories of Subject 16 (Desmond is/was Subject 17) in "The Lost Archives." The Lost Archives is DLC released for Assassin's Creed Revelations. I actually just recently DLed that perticular DLC myself. The theme song for it/Subject 16 is beyond sad.

It also doesn't make any sense, given the events of the first game

Its a Microsoft Xbox live contest. Go to microsoft website,xbox live competition section. Only open to residents of the US,non familly members etc etc. Theres also a few other consoles to be released in competitions soonthrough Xbox live I think a Transformer console was not long ago,supposedly a Need for Speed one is being done & theres a hint of a possible Bioshock Infinite console
