i remember on these very boards..when these controllers were released..everybody was like go for the japan version...and bemoaned the idea of "settleing" for the asian version..saying the japan version was more holistic more organic more desirable in some ways..and asian version would not be in as much demand as the japanese packaging..lol..oh the irony of it all.

lol i don't recall that, it was clear very early on that the only difference was that one had a steelbook and one didn't.
