Slightly disappointed with Play I have to say!

Packaging was alright - a bit scuffed and dented, but I'm never one for packaging anyway.

But the gun itself has a small dark scuff mark on the white plastic at the back, and a small scratch on the see through element of the barrel.

It's not bad but it's certainly not pristine - but of course, Play don't keep extras for potential returns so it's the age old collectors dilemma - keep it non-pristine or not have it at all!?

I opted to keep it and Play gave me a £20 discount - thought that was a little on the low side, but oh well, what can you do!

Got mine today too. Packaging wasn't too bad for me. Could have been slightly better though I guess...

Problem though if anyone here has got advice. Bought a second one for a buddy in Canada. Took it to Royal Mail and they said I needed a courier. So took it to DHL and they quoted £205!!! : (

Also just got mine before - packaging was actually very good from Play.com - large box, bubble wrap around the packaging etc - the actual gun does have a few scuffs/marks on it but nothing too much - would have been nice to get a stand with it? unless it can stand on its own but nonetheless an awesome piece to have in the collection - it is a 1:1 scale replica of the portal gun at the end of the day - how is that not cool

Use parcel2go and send via fedex. I got a quote for a GoW lancer to Oz and was only about £90. It's still quite expensive, but better than £200...

Used them more than 50 times and are excellent service, using the dimenssions of mine, it should cost you around £40-50 depending on the size of box you use.

Bear in mind though they use both DHL and UPS - DHL may not carry it as they are very strict against anything resembling a weapon of any kind - i shipped GOW lancer with them and they refused saying it was 'dangerous goods'

but then again UPS will charge a brokerage fee to those in canada so contact them and ask if ok with this

What Weight is the portal gun? The only scales we have are on my dad's van and i need to arrange a collection today...

Was thinking it was around the 4KG mark?
