Well...after seeing the unboxing videos on youtube, it appears that the pipboy edition indeed comes with a steelbook not a metal case.




And the steelbook final design is exactly what was advertised earlier.




I still can't confirm if the standalone steelbook edition will have similar design as the pipboy edition or not. Apparently, all sellers that I have seen are posting a different design for the steelbook standalone version.




Believe it or not. I only pre-ordered the Pipboy edition for the steelbook (I know, I am crazy), but if it turns out that both editions have the same steelbook I will gladly sell my pipboy edition and get the steelbook edition.

If anyone can secure a steelbook for a decent price I'll be interested! If there are 2 variations, I'd be interested in the 2nd as a priority.

I just got my steelbook today. The standalone is the same as the one in the pipboy edition and unfortunately all steelbooks are G2. I purchased my copy for PC and got a G2 case (which also arrived with a strange scratch across the spine ).

The pip boy is different

The cut across the spine will probably be from a box cutter... When the box of steels arrived to be packed wth a game they will have been packed spine up in a cardboard box and whoever opened them sliced along the tape and through all the spines.... I've seen it before

Yeah, I too have seen this! >.< I've seen it with a steelbook that is sealed up inside a CE too... So frustrating when this happens. I wish people would take more care when packaging items...

I've had to find replacements for three, yes, three of these Fallout 4 steelbooks as they've all been horribly mangled. Perhaps for the sake of post-apocalyptic authenticity.

Not sure who the hell was packing these into the Pip-Boy Editions, but I can only imagine they were across the warehouse hitting them in with a baseball bat.
