Yeah, not sure about that. Seems unlikely though. Its one thing to do that from a 3DS --> N3DS when everything is nearly exactly the same. But seems very unlikely they'd do it for an entirely "next gen" platform.

Very nervous about the reveal though... so many different "rumors" out there, some good some bad. No matter what, the outrcry will probably be the same as it always is though:

1) 1 group of people who are absolutely in love with it and shocked at how amazing it is (and it'll undoubtedly have some new, if not revolutionary, method of input or output as Nintendo always does).
2) another group who says its already dead on arrival and Nintendo is finished forever
3) those who legitimately critique it for the things it should do and doesnt while also acknowledging the things it might do well
4) those who really don't care and say "Nintend-whaa?"

Some other guarantees:
- it'll have eshop access
- it'll have amiibo access
- it'll almost certainly have a bad or confusing name
- there'll be a gimmicky game at launch

I know this will piss off a lot of our PAL Nintendo collector fans, but Nintendo of America now offers to everyone on their website the so called "European Ambassador edition" 3DS plate covers, the kanji cover, that was exclusive to Europe Nintendo 3DS 1ST edition console, can now be bought for $21 (cover plates only)..but it is EXACT color and design..i know some Europeans paid big bucks aftermarket to get those unique cover plates with the console, when the "new" 3ds launched ...

No shit I picked up an ambassador n3ds like half a year ago for around $350 jut for the sake of it. Sigh oh well. At least I have a small n3ds now.

What a fucking joke!! >.< If Nintendo's business strategy for the year is to piss off all of their fans, then they are succeeding...

Anyway, where can I buy said faceplates from? Would like a set to use. Lol

I thought they did sell the small N3DS in the U.S. now? Didn't you guys also get the AC Happy Homes console and you'll be getting the Pokemon Anniversary console with the Pokemon red and blue faceplates.
