Haven't looked into this but I guess it will be sold through the official Sony store on jd.com or taobao.com

i think the 2 year China anniversary PS4 special edition is "bizarre" to be celebrating a 2 year mark..it does'nt really ring a bell as an auspicious occasion unless there is more significance and meaning in Chinese culture for the number 2 or 2 years in general. plus why are people soo hung up on the 25th anniversary playstation 4 colorware edition? it is an AFTERMARKET, 3RD PARTY, UNLICENSED INDEPENDENT UNOFFICIAL edition...anyone can paint it gray, and get some professional paint shop to add and replicate the finishing touches..thats why i'm a little baffled, by all the "noise" surrounding this so called "25th anniversary" edition PS4 PRO..although i will admit, it is a good paint finish..but the price for an aftermarket CUSTOM PAINT is not worth it to me.

Did someone call them as 25th Anniversary? Because they are not. They were and still are announced as PS4 Pro Retro and the number 25 is connected only to the fact they announced that only 25 pieces will be made, individually numbered. They, however, decided to increase the production after that the first batch was sold out quite fast.

I personally bought it for several reasons - first one is that I take Colorware as number one besides other companies involved into custom made business. Aren't they who are signed under majority (if not every) custom made consoles intended for various competitions, prizes etc.? From this point of view I take them as professionals even though maybe every single painter know how to use grey spray.

Second reason was that I was about to buy PS4 Pro for myself and did not want just standard black color. I hoped for some limited edition made by Sony, if no sooner then at the latest at launch of Horizon Zero Dawn. Unfortunatelly it did not happen.

Last but not least, the Retro style is pretty nice and the signs of it are as close as possible to the original Playstation. This together with fact the first 25 pieces were individually numbered made me to buy it even though it would be very difficult for me to solve any warranty issues, which I hope doesn't happen.

Yep, Colorware does pretty much every custom console and controller that are given away as prizes or are made in super limited batches as promo stuff. They do damn good work.

Colorware sometimes outsources their paint work to developing countries such as India, like it is said, these PS4 Recolors were custom painted in INDIA for the colorware company...when SONY officially release different color variations of the console, the color tint is injected into the console plastic material, whereas COLORWARE is doing a refinish repaint, which SONY does NOT advise to do. although i do admit COLORWARE as a VERY GOOD REPUTATION, there have been issues of paint chip, and paint peeling off their products..and especially if you hold on to them for a number of years, you will see disintegration of the paint on some surface areas, but nonetheless, the console indeed does look nice, so i happy for those who were able to add these beauties to their collections.
