Nintendo's track record for CE's in the US continues to flop spectacularly.

Thanks,

Has anyone else Mario Kart 8 limited edition arrived unsealed?
The Zelda one had 3 seals, 1 at bottom, 2 at top, my Mario kart only has the bottom, is this normal?

Mine also came unsealed, but I just put that down to it coming direct from Nintendo store. However, I have just unpakced and had another look at the copies for my GB and neither of those are sealed either... o.0 Curious...

Hello everyone,

I know I am very late to the party here but I was wondering if anyone knows the exact production number for the Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition. I've heard such a random array of numbers that I don't know what to believe. Being that the reserves ended after only 1 day of it being announced I would assume it's less than 1000. But again I would prefer to know the exact number.

Thanks,
Cris

EDIT: I'm referring to the NTSC Limited Edition that was exclusive to the Nintendo World Store in New York City.

there is NOTHING unique or special about the NTSC version other than the box itself...Nintendo never announced any number..so the only best guess you can get is by calling the Nintendo World Store in NYC and ask to speak to manager on duty to see if he can answer your question, at least that would be considered a "valid" source, other than that, it's mere speculation on-line.

Thanks for the reply. I may call them tomorrow and see if I can speak to the manager.

if you speak to the store manager and he provides you a definitive number please share with us..on day of release..they stated to one of the reputable members on here who waited to pick one up, that they had about 80 left after the initial preorders were fulfilled...so you need to ask the store manager how many pre orders were accepted? then add 80..and then we should have a real close figure.
