I understand, but would that copy been sold if the seller put it up as a BIN for $1000?
I also think the $900 bid was legitimate and I presume the buyer would have paid the $100 extra for it, which is crazy when you consider it's way over price.

The thing is though, now that the listing has been removed and the bidder made aware of the scam. He's unlikely to bid that high again for a while at least.

On the original list it has Dead Rising tin edition, I was wondering how was this sealed originally? Just regular shrink wrap or was there some Microsoft seal on it? I ask because I've never seen one sealed and don't wanna be scammed if I go to buy one that's just been shrinkwrapped at home
All my Xbox 360 steelbooks have the green side seal, but that's in the UK.

Thanks for the answer, but do you know if it was shrinkwrapped as well?

Hi there

All my Steelbooks for both PS3 and Xbox are all Cello sealed

You should ask Sealed game collectors this question who will be able a better answer, I have asked this question on Sealedgameheaven for you.

every new game I've photographed in the last month or so I've taken a picture of the package before the seal was cracked just so sealed game collector's know what to look for.

I think it's great that you're doing that because there's so many reseals out there. It comes in handy when you're buying something from overseas especially. Like the Cello seals, is that how they come factory sealed in the UK? Ours (NTSC) look totally different. Actually, the Cello seals look like they would be quite easy to buy and reseal any game that way. I could be way off here but it looks that way, am I wrong?

This is great news.

I have yet to come across a re-seal collector's edition, but like you said they are out there and if there's money to be made from it more will be made. This is likely the single biggest concern for a collector, that and the huge increase in price thanks to VGA grading.

No - you are correct, it becoming increasingly common for re-sealed normal games, however the kit to shrink wrap the games is also very cheap, about £40-50 max for sealer and materials.

I don't have a huge amount of steelbooks but the ones I do have: Resident Evil 5, Perfect dark zero, jericho are all cello sealed, the ones I have from the USA such as Tales of vesperia are shrink wrapped. I guess it depends on the publisher in the region they are made for.

It looks like Gemini-Phoenix (also a Staff member on this site) has confirmed that it is shrink wrapped with green stickker.

Bear in the mind that most of the games on that site will be PRE-PS2. Nintendo espeically, there something about sealed Nintendo 64 games that make them much more appealing than other console games in that generation. Wonder if there was ever a limited edition N64 game.

Two others on the forum have Cello sealed game and not shrinkwrapped.

When I bought Forza 2 LCE from ebay it was advertised as "sealed"

it was, but the seal was fake, the DLC card was already used up too...

that's the only one I ever ran into though.

the seal was obviously fake when I got it so I was weary off the bat.

it was a shrink-wrap seal too... but it was of a lower quality (thinner/more brittle?) than what I see on most game cases.

Vanquish limited edition is going up in price on ebay. Last time I checked it was priced at $300.
