Also treated myself to one of these. I have finally joined the PS4 club. I planned to get a Dragon Quest console originally then that plan was put on hold with the announcement of the 20th Anniversary console which I couldn't get. So instead of funding greedy people's pockets I went back to my original plan! Also thanks to my GF who went half with me on it!

Congrats on the PS4 bud! I'm in almost the EXACT same situation - wanted the DQ PS4, saw the 20th anniversary one and drooled, will NOT spend beyond MSRP for one though, so now looking back at the DQ one. Is it a Japan only console? And are they basically region-free? I haven't played a Sony console since my PS2 (or PSP), so not sure. Congrats again though! Looks gorgeous!

Thanks! ^^ Yeah basically I'm not gonna pay more than the RRP for the 20th Anniversary PS4. I tried, I failed, I got over it!! XD

Yeah the DQ console is Japan only. Yeah it is region free to an extent. Games are region free as they were with the PS3 and PSP, but it's region A for Blu-Ray movies. Not that I intend to use it for Blu-Ray movies, so that didn't matter. Lol I have plenty of devices to play Blu-Rays on! XD Also because it's a Jap console the "X" and "O" functions are backwards. Lol remember that taking me a while to get used to with my PSP! XD Anyway,Cost me just a little over £400 in total with shipping. Thankfully it dodged import tax and duties, so that was nice! ^^

Just gotta decide what to do with the game download code, since I can't read Japanese, it's not much use to me! >.< Where do you think would be the best place to sell a Japanese PSN download code? 0.o

Also, the console is gorgeous! ^^ Unfortunately my pics don't do it justice...

Yeah my PSVita is a Japanese version and it is "X" "O" backwards... though you get used to it.

As far as the code... isn't there a Japanese eBay?

Yeah I like the silver too! ^^ I promised myself I was only gonna get a PS4 when there was a limited edition console I liked and this was it. It also has the slime logo on the controller to incase anybody missed that! ^^

With regards to Dragon Quest as a series, I've only played 2 DQ games. Those being 2 that were released on the DS. Dragon Quest VI and IX, if I recall.

About the post thing. XD I strategically try to hold off posting in this thread until I can make a post that will be right at the top of a new page. Otherwise mine gets missed at the bottom of the previous page because Coma then posts in here.

Yeah I have no Nintendo stuff so I never got to play the game... is it good? Or more of the console itself you like

I got a PS Vita locally. when I got my PSP all those years ago, that was a Jap import as I was impatient. Lol

I'll have to look into selling the code and see what the best way would be for me.

The slime doesn't do anything. It's just an ornament. He plugs into the USB just for support.

Tbh, I don't remember much of the 2 games on the 3DSx they were played admidst a load of other games I had on an R4 card at the time. XD Went on a bit of a JRPG stint a while ago across all platforms. In this instance, I bought that console because I like the console and I wanted a PS4! ^^

Lol thanks! ^^ I'm enjoying playing it atm. I think my Xbox would remain my predominant console for most titles and my PS4 would be for exclusives. It was the same for the PS3 last ten. Lol The PS4 has some great looking exclusives coming out this year, so I'm pretty psyched for it.

I would recommend buying one of these DQ Edition consoles. I like that it has a completely matte finish, so no fear of fingerprints and scratches that are always an issue with gloss finish consoles! >.< I guess it all depends on whether you just want a PS4, or if you want a PS4 that's good looking too!! XD
