It not fair, I still haven't got mine. You and Gemini already have yours. I really hate the postage service in my area.

Thanks for those amazing pictures Andy!
I actually received mine yesterday (Wednesday 8th June 2011), and I am very impressed with it! #200 as promised! ![]() ![]() Very good quality CE, with a lot of thought and effort put in, so kudos to Andy and his team for producing a very nice package for us collectors! I cannot praise you enough for all you have done in the last few weeks, and this is most definitely going to be cherished for a long time to come! Your efforts will always be remembered amongst the collector community! I only wish more publishers would make the same effort to communicate with their target demographic *Cough* EA *Cough* |

![]() I was thinking for future games, I'm not sure what you will be publishing in the future. |

For future games we could do one, what kind of price point would you guys be looking at? would an auction be of interest or would it be better as a higher priced 1st come first served deal? My upcoming titles are Just Sing 2 and Virtual Villagers and we have about 25+ classic PC game titles (including titles such as SpellForce, The Guild, Gothic and Painkiller), would any of those titles strike you guys as "i'd love a special collector's edition of that!" - it might even be the case we ONLY do a one off special edition for some titles? (for example no collector's editions for VV or JS2 are in the pipeline as yet). |

I would say the acceptable price point in dependant on the content of the edition, rarity and platform.
Traditionally is has been difficult to justify a very high priced DS collector's edition unless it had something very special or rare. But for a console especially PS3 and Xbox, it is more acceptable. I personally think the price of Emily is perfect and if it was for console I would be happy to pay £10-£15 max. (i.e £65-£70. Max) But then again if it included some very good content I wouldn't mind paying more. As for future game, I think a Collector's Edition for Just Sing 2 may not be best choice. I have never heard of Virtual Villagers for except for the Iphone so don't know about that one either. I am interested in the Gothic series, would love to see a series (1-4) Collector's Edition, is that a possibility, although as I understand it Gothic 4 was no part of the same series. I also know Pqube published Gothic 4 for Xbox in the UK, will you be doing the same for some of the other Topware titles, or maybe even Risen 2 which is looking very nice. |

I know there will be one for Guilty Gear (Brian is the product manager for that one, I think you may have his details, if not drop me an email and I will get him in touch with you).
Thanks for the breakdown, I think VV and JS2 will release as standard edition only then ![]() Gothic is under my range so I will look into doing something for that, Gothic Universe has all of the titles (if I'm not mistaken), how about a Collector's Edition for that? |

Those titles you mentioned don't really strike me as the kind we would be interested in having a CE for. After all, the likes of EA, Ubisoft, Activision, and THQ already pump out enough trashy CE's for sub-par games, and I personally find myself buying the simply because they're a CE, and not because I was actually interested in the game For me, the type of game worthy of a special CE would be the niche cult favourites. Japanese fighters and RPG's are a good example of the sort of games which are worthy. The type of games which stand out as iconic, and will be remembered in the future for their loyal fan-base |

Luckily, we do have a good stream of Niche and Japanese fighters (although I'm not always responsible for them myself), for example BlazBlue is something we work with a lot, I guess that would fall into that category? |

As for pricing - I agree with Gurps above. I approved of the Emily The Strange price, and felt it was fair, especially considering that it was very limited and also numbered. Even the Amazon price is fair, but I don't think I would want to pay more than that for a DS game. I think generally speaking, between £49.99-£79.99 is average price for CE's, provided the contents are worth the difference in price. If they're unique bonuses, then all the better! A few points we regularly discuss here on CE.O regarding CE's are: 1) Are the contents unique to this edition? If the contents can only be obtained in the CE, then that is always a plus selling point. If it's just a bunch of merch which can be bought separately, then that's not so appealing 2) Is it limited & numbered? As you have probably noticed by now, we most certainly jump on anything which we can determine a finite number of editions, and prefer if they are numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity 3) Unique packaging A lot of exceptional CE's in the last few years have been ruined by the fact that they include the regular retail copy of the game (Eg, Bioshock 2 CE). It feels as if they dropped the ball right at the goal post. However, a few have gone that extra distance to create unique packaging for the game disc as well as the other contents (such as the American Castlevania: Lord Of Shadows CE). Unique disc packaging (Ie, not a cardboard sleeve!) is always welcomed! |
